Cloud Architect

Faratech Islamic Bank is seeking a Cloud Architect to design and implement our cloud infrastructure strategy. You'll create scalable, secure, and compliant cloud architectures that support our digital banking platform serving West and Central Africa.

About the Role

As a Cloud Architect at Faratech, you'll be responsible for designing our cloud infrastructure, making strategic technology decisions, and ensuring our platform meets the highest standards for security, performance, and compliance required for a digital bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect cloud infrastructure solutions
• Develop cloud strategy and migration plans
• Evaluate and select cloud services and technologies
• Design for scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Ensure security and compliance in cloud architecture
• Create architecture diagrams and technical documentation
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and engineering teams
• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization
• Stay current with cloud technologies and best practices
• Lead cloud migration and modernization projects
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture or related roles
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns and best practices
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Knowledge of microservices, containers, and serverless architectures
• Understanding of security, compliance, and governance in cloud
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Cloud architecture certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or banking industry
• Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience with multi-cloud architectures
• Knowledge of Islamic banking compliance requirements
• Experience with cloud cost optimization
• Strong programming or scripting skills
• Experience leading cloud migration projects
