Data Engineer

Faratech Islamic Bank is looking for a Data Engineer to join our data team. You'll build and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics infrastructure to support business intelligence, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer at Faratech, you'll design and implement data infrastructure that enables data-driven decision making across the organization. You'll work with large volumes of banking data, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
• Maintain and optimize data warehouses and data lakes
• Implement data quality and validation frameworks
• Build real-time and batch data processing systems
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts on data requirements
• Optimize data storage and query performance
• Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot issues
• Document data architecture and processes
• Implement data governance and cataloging
• Work with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Support business intelligence and reporting tools

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
• Strong programming skills (Python, Java, or Scala)
• Experience with data pipeline tools (Airflow, Luigi, or similar)
• Knowledge of SQL and database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, or similar)
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools
• Understanding of data modeling and schema design
• Experience with cloud data platforms
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or banking industry
• Knowledge of real-time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
• Experience with data lake architectures
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
• Understanding of machine learning data requirements
• Certifications in cloud data platforms
