DevOps Engineer

Faratech Islamic Bank is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling our cloud infrastructure to support our digital banking platform serving West and Central Africa.

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer at Faratech, you'll work closely with our engineering teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure. You'll design and implement CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud resources, monitor system performance, and respond to incidents to maintain our commitment to 99.9% uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
• Monitor system performance, set up alerting, and respond to incidents
• Ensure security best practices in infrastructure configuration
• Automate operational tasks and improve deployment processes
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance
• Maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies
• Document infrastructure architecture and operational procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK stack)
• Understanding of networking, security, and compliance requirements
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or banking industry
• Knowledge of Islamic banking compliance requirements
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with database administration and optimization
• Knowledge of security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
