Internal Audit Specialist

Faratech Islamic Bank is seeking an Internal Audit Specialist to join our audit and compliance team. You'll be responsible for conducting internal audits, assessing compliance with banking regulations and Sharia principles, and ensuring effective internal controls.

About the Role

As an Internal Audit Specialist at Faratech, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our operations comply with banking regulations, Islamic finance principles, and internal policies. You'll conduct audits, identify risks, and provide recommendations to strengthen our controls and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits across all business functions
• Assess compliance with banking regulations and Sharia principles
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management
• Review financial transactions for compliance and accuracy
• Conduct operational audits of banking processes and systems
• Assess IT controls and cybersecurity measures
• Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations
• Follow up on audit recommendations and track remediation
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory examiners
• Stay current with banking regulations and Islamic finance standards
• Provide training on compliance and internal controls
• Support risk assessment and management activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or compliance
• Professional certification (CIA, CPA, CISA, or similar) preferred
• Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements
• Understanding of internal control frameworks (COSO, COBIT)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and high ethical standards
• Ability to work independently and in teams
• Proficiency in audit software and data analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Islamic banking or finance
• Knowledge of Sharia compliance and Islamic finance principles
• Experience with fintech or digital banking
• Knowledge of IT auditing and cybersecurity
• Experience with regulatory examinations
• Fluency in French and English
