Machine Learning Engineer

Faratech Islamic Bank is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our data science team. You'll build and deploy ML models for fraud detection, credit risk assessment, customer segmentation, and personalized banking experiences while ensuring ethical AI practices aligned with Islamic finance principles.

About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Faratech, you'll work on cutting-edge ML applications in banking, from fraud detection systems to credit scoring models. You'll collaborate with data engineers, product teams, and compliance to build models that are both effective and ethical.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for banking applications
• Build fraud detection and prevention systems
• Develop credit risk assessment and scoring models
• Create customer segmentation and personalization models
• Implement ML pipelines for training, validation, and deployment
• Work with large datasets and ensure data quality
• Monitor model performance and implement improvements
• Ensure models comply with ethical AI principles and regulations
• Collaborate with data engineers on data infrastructure
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
• Stay current with ML research and industry best practices
• Document models, processes, and methodologies

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning or data science
• Strong programming skills in Python or R
• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Knowledge of statistical modeling and evaluation methods
• Experience with data processing and feature engineering
• Understanding of MLOps and model deployment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or banking industry
• Knowledge of fraud detection and credit risk modeling
• Experience with cloud ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP AI Platform)
• Knowledge of deep learning and neural networks
• Experience with real-time ML systems
• Understanding of ethical AI and fairness in ML
• PhD in relevant field
• Publications or contributions to ML research
