Security Engineer

Faratech Islamic Bank is looking for a Security Engineer to join our security team. You'll be responsible for protecting our digital banking platform, customer data, and infrastructure from security threats while ensuring compliance with banking regulations and security standards.

About the Role

As a Security Engineer at Faratech, you'll work on the front lines of cybersecurity, implementing security controls, conducting security assessments, responding to incidents, and ensuring our platform meets the highest security standards required for a digital bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls and policies
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing
• Monitor security events and respond to security incidents
• Implement and maintain security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, etc.)
• Perform code security reviews and static/dynamic analysis
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) systems
• Ensure compliance with security standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, etc.)
• Conduct security training and awareness programs
• Investigate security breaches and coordinate incident response
• Stay current with security threats and industry best practices
• Collaborate with development teams to implement secure coding practices
• Manage security documentation and compliance reports

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related roles
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP)
• Experience with security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools)
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP security best practices)
• Understanding of network security, encryption, and authentication protocols
• Experience with security incident response and forensics
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CEH, GSEC, or similar) preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or banking industry
• Knowledge of Islamic banking compliance and security requirements
• Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, PCI DSS)
• Programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Experience with DevSecOps practices
• Knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrency security (if applicable)
